Putting a lil string of games up!
Sluggy's Adventure 1 is great. But I didn't know there were all these other games, I'll have to try them ;D.
Smash Brothers
-Do you play Smash Bros? If so, would you consider yourself a leisure player (parties, friends) or more competitive.
I am definitely a leisure player, nothing more. I like the games but generally don't play them often because my friends aren't interested in that. I'm looking forward to playing Brawl online :).
-Character of choice? Why?
Depends. When I do play I LOVE to play Ness, hide in a corner, and PK Thunder other people just to annoy them (because they're usually better than me and I will lose.) However, when I feel like not playing like a bitch I'll do Cpt. Falcon; his power special attacks are just my thing, since I usually just get away with quick cheap attacks :P.
-Have you ever fought in a tournament of any sorts?
Nope! I did play a lot of the game last fall with some guys from the dorms, but that ended when I moved out.

Right. But you only get the special items if you can complete the trials on the first try. Which most are very easy IMO. But my opinion is biased as I made the game :).
Maybe you should remove the save point in the room so that players can't reload to get the kickass equipment? I mean, there'll still be monsters popping up in random encounters, but you could just give the player the choice to save ONCE before the scene where the two red-armored soldiers join the party. You could then give a save point prior to fighting the four final bosses.
For my part I at first thought I'd get a Game Over if I failed, so I saved my game before trying. I got all of the puzzles on the first try except for the third one, where, if you want to collect all of the treasures on the side, I think you pretty much have to fail at least once or twice. So, I got a whole bunch of smaller treasures for the sake of a potentially much better (or just as good) single item.
But yeah, if I'd known better I would have played Ryne's scenario first.

The one on the left resembles Wendy from the restaurant chain Wendy's, but I think that's only because (s)he's a redhead :P.
Games you think should be on RMN

I'll talk to Legion about adding some of his games on here. Do you just want Backstage, or do you want some of the other games as well?
Oh, btw, hi. I'm Oto, otherwise known as "that guy who pretty much is/was Legion's secretary/webmaster."
Actually I recognize you from GW, hello ;D! And yes, tell him we want ALL of his games. I personally really enjoyed the Tower, I wish he would've finished it but oh well :-\.
And you are...? (THE INTRODUCTION THREAD)
Sure.
My alias is Yolindo Yammer. I go to Iowa State University in Ames, IA for accounting, English, and philosophy and plan to someday attend law school, then eventually practice law either in courts or businesses or both.
My main hobby is Greek life. I spend a lot of time down at college just trying to help build up and run a fraternity. I also get involved in some other clubs and organizations, because I like to get involved in things. My campus involvement and my 20+ credit hours per semester usually means that I disappear while classes are going on. I would someday like to write a novel centered around my experiences in the Greek community as contrasted to what is commonly held about frats.
When it comes to RPGs I place a humongous emphasis on storyline, so much so that I can usually care less about graphics. Recently however I've come to appreciate gameplay a lot more, and I can say that, if a game has a fantastic storyline but a horrible battle system and little else, I won't be enjoying it :). Some of my favorite game series include Metal Gear Solid, Suikoden, and Final Fantasy. I would probably enjoy more of those obscure #rm2k games like Odin Sphere if I had more free time to play them :P.
Prior to RMN, I spent several years hanging around #rpgmaker.net while various iterations of RPGMaker.net were released. Before that I was a member of GamingW, where I worked as an administrator for awhile before leaving. I've never completed a game of my own, though I've released demos of projects and also helped others with their own storylines. If I ever have the free time, I would love to create a new RM2K game with absolute emphasis on very, very deep plotting, as much as what I've written in the past, but I'd probably need help putting together a balanced battle system and making the graphics digestible ;D.
I am cooler than Erave; I am generally "above average" in coolness, though certainly not "the life of the party." I usually get hooked on particular things for periods of time before getting bored and moving on. For example, I eat the same microwavable burrito dinner every day for several months, then move on to microwavable chicken with BBQ dip; I get really excited about playing RM2K games for several weeks, then get bored and start reading books constantly instead. Generally, however, I stay excited about things where I'm 'building up' organizations or improving myself through learning. I've also recently started studying my religion Catholicism more closely and have begun eating more healthily and working out again, so I'm probably doing better than I ever have.

Minor spoilers below
Heya, just got to the 'official ending' and played a little beyond in Ice Cavern :).
The 'book puzzle' I was confused on was actually the second one you do for Part #2. Eventually I realized that I had the Nonfiction and Game categories mixed up! However, it'd be nice if, for this puzzle, you had Josh dropping hints as before for Part #1's puzzle. For my part I didn't know about Part #1's puzzle until after I finished Part #2's and backtracked a bit.
Ryne's sequence felt REALLY good to play. It felt like a fitting end to the demo, giving a sneak peak at higher-level 'epic' combat in the game and a few hints to the plot (although you really didn't tell us anything.. except that super-tough Ryne is still getting the crap kicked out of him in story sequences!)
My least favorite of the three split-paths was ZaknNik's romp. The starting battles and dungeon were a bummer- straight, linear movement featuring lots of battles. I didn't like playing with either Zak or Nik in battle either, because for both of them I usually just used skills until running dry on MP, then restoring MP or just slugging it out with Attacks. Pretty boring. However, the ZaknNik portion picked up with puzzles in Josh's basement plus Josh's cool equipment attacks. It still felt a little heavy on combat, but maybe that's because I played that segment fresh after Tyler's :).
One more 'bug' I noticed is that I was able to highlight an eighth character portrait in the lower-right corner, L26+, which I assume is Ryne's. He still can't be added to the party, his crap having been kicked out of him and all, but it seems like a minor plot spoiler to the player that this super-powerful magician is going to join up later on after this point.
Anyways, I'll write a nice review in a couple days :).

Last Legend [Demo]
I've been playing the new version and noticed a couple things...
1. After the sequence in Deal Castle finishes up, there's still a group of 3 red soldiers located at the north side of the town of Deal, from the earlier cutscene.
2. I've finished 3 of the Hunter's Guild quests and am stuck. I turned in all of my quests for rewards, but the silver-haired HG guy keeps saying I can get another job from him after turning in a quest. I notice that there's a house in the SE side of Brown that I'm locked out of because I didn't finish all quests- is it possible to do more quests and get in here within the demo? Also, if it helps, I killed the monster from the 2nd Hunter quest, then did the 3rd quest and got the reward, and much later spoke to the old man and got my reward for the 2nd quest.
3. The book puzzle in Josh's basement is hard and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong :\.

I didn't play Ryne's yet, I'm halfway through Tyler's. Would it be safe for me just move my save file to the new, fixed game file you'll put up?
Also... I didn't really think there was too *much* money. I would've preferred it if you just created a new set of super-expensive, slightly superior equipment to be purchased, but I guess this is fine.
By the way, although I really like the combat, it does seem a little inconsistent in difficulty and in item drops. When I got to the random encounters in the sailor graveyard the undead baddies were beating the crap out of me, and I started experiencing my characters getting killed for the first time. But I like the difficulty from there on, sooo maybe make the combat on the first continent harder? I dunno!
Also, enemies are dropping waaay too many Stimulants and Pocket Shelters. I've never had to buy one of either, and when an enemy does kill one of my characters it becomes more of an inconvenience than a real issue :-\.

Well, they fix some major bugs. Don't worry. I'll update the game file on the main site tomorrow. Give a me a day.
AHAW TOO LATE I already started !!
In the middle of the nighttime sequence in Deal, after fighting that one boss... I've got to admit, I was surprised by the transformation! But I'll end up less surprised if the same transformation happens to the other side of the conflict :). I also want to congratulate you guys on making a genuinely fun, well-balanced battle system. I tend to focus on increasing agility, because you can really notice the difference it makes, but I really enjoy grinding monsters now and then to make a little extra cash and gain some new skills. It would be nice if you had some kind of 'money sink' besides those stat-increasing items though; I found myself flush in cash after playing awhile.
There aren't too many bugs or anything. There are a few typos, maybe 2-3. I'd just like to point out that in the credits at the beginning in the Music category you credit "RTP Package," which seems a little redundant. In the Pitstop Cave I was able to walk through a wall in the corner of one room. Beyond that though I didn't find too much.
Anyways, I'll write more after finishing the unpatched version of the demo :).
